Mission
The Habesha Legal Professionals Association of Canada is a Black-led non-profit organization that unites its members to provide evidence-based, language-specific, and culturally appropriate legal support. Our mission is to equip Habesha (Ethiopian and Eritrean) legal professionals to serve their community with dignity, unity, and excellence.

Vision
We envision fair, transparent, and inclusive legal and immigration systems that honor the lived experiences of Habesha communities. We empower our members through mentorship, training, and collaboration, equipping them to provide ethical, community-centered representation and to advocate for Africa’s equitable immigration levels and fair processing times in alignment with other regions. By cultivating a positive and innovative environment rooted in collective learning, mutual respect, and integrity, we support our members in becoming influential leaders who serve with compassion and excellence.
Our Story
The founders came together in January 2018 with a shared commitment to support Habesha refugees overseas and enhance the quality of life for Habesha immigrants in Canada. What began as a small network for shared experience and advocacy grew into a formal non-profit organization, officially registered on November 5, 2025.
